Some Fans Are Not Pleased With Ron Darling Shouting "YES! YES!" As Cody Bellinger Hit His Game Tying Home Run
Lost in the moment of Cody Bellinger's massive game-tying home run yesterday vs the Braves was announcer Ron Darling in the background shouting "YES! YES!" and some fans are NOT happy. Most of them are Braves fans and I get it, they didn't enjoy the salt being poured in their wounds as Bellinger just got the Dodgers right back in the series. If we're being honest, who gives a shit about who the announcer roots for? Darling is an employee of the Mets so it seems right that he is cheering against a division rival, but who cares? "It'S uNpRoFeSsIoNaL!" whoooooo cares??
I saw some tweets saying to take him off the broadcast because he's impartial as well, the people calling for that are losers, straight up losers. I couldn't care less who an announcer or color commentator is rooting for, literally don't care. It has 0 impact on the game and if you don't like it and it's bothering you that much than you should find the button on your remote that says "MUTE" and hit it. Plenty of other things to listen to while the game is on. Adele has a new song out, listen to that.
When I heard Darling scream "YES!!!!" I kind of thought he was just happy that we have a series now, that game was incredible and I figured he was showing emotion. Maybe that is what he was doing, or maybe he was rooting against the Braves. Regardless I don't think it's bad for the game or the broadcast. Darling is a pro, he is one of the best, that Mets booth is great. People saying he should be taken off are absolute clowns. These aren't the 1950s anymore, we don't have guys sitting in the booth calling the game and only the game. It's basically a show in its own. We have A-Rod telling stories the whole game, we have some guys who don't know who are on the diamond and who are on which team, if Darling gets excited over the biggest postseason home run we've seen this year, big deal!
It's weird to me that people are upset that broadcasters show emotion towards what is happening in the game they're calling. Isn't that what we want? It's not the regular season with your teams boring ass announcers. Give me Brian Anderson and Ron Darling doing the worm, cartwheeling and high fiving each other every time something big happens in this series. "Ron Darling is biased!" Who cares if he is? It's a baseball game he's calling, he's not a judge in a criminal case. You just don't like it because it's happening to your team, get over it.
