Liam Gallagher Selling Out Two Nights At Knebworth Is The Comeback Story Of The Century

In August of 1996, Oasis played two legendary gigs at Knebworth Park in front of 250,000 adoring fans in what is still looked back on as the peak of the band; 2.6 million people applied for tickets (5% of the British population at the time) and those who were lucky enough to be there still describe it as a truly life-affirming event to this day....

Noel Gallagher and rhythm guitarist Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs were both quoted decades later saying the shows were such a high for Oasis that they should've "bowed out" and called it quits immediately following the second sold out night, knowing nothing would ever top what they had just accomplished.

We're still talking about that storied weekend at Knebworth 25 years later, as just last month, a documentary about it was released in theaters worldwide (and it quickly became the highest grossing documentary of the year, nbd)....

As a 23-year-old Oasis superfanI thought I'd surely never get to experience anything half as special as that weekend in my life.

Well, that is, until Liam Gallagher announced that he'd be returning to the sight of Knebworth once again earlier this week….

Over a quarter century later, following the downfall and breakup of Oasis, the 'troubled-from-the-start' run of Beady Eye, Liam's vocal chords wearing and tearing, and everyone and their mothers writing him off - Liam Gallagher will complete what could be called the greatest comeback in rock n' roll history by playing NOT ONE, BUT TWO SHOWS AT KNEBWORTH….and I will be there.

When he put the first night on sale, I saw tons on Twitter clowning him and saying he wouldn't even come close to selling out. Just over 36 hours later - BOTH nights have sold out. Insane!

He's got his voice back….

He's proven he could write a HELL of a tune without the help of his older brother….

….and he's even got Noel dishing out half-compliments in regards to his career resurrection….

If you've been an Oasis fan that has watched Liam's journey through the years, you know how massive this is for him. If not, and you're interested in learning a little more about it, watch 'Oasis: Supersonic' on Netflix tonight, followed by 'Liam Gallagher: As It Was' - two phenomenal documentaries for any music fan that will give you a real understanding/appreciation for all of this.

You'll be able to watch the 'Knebworth 1996' documentary next month, which you could pre-order below….

….or just watch one of the full gigs below….

Hopefully Troopz is in London while I'm over there for this, cause I'm gonna need a tour guide!
