Nobody Show This To The Sixers - Allen Iverson Is Basically Begging To Help The Franchise And They Aren't Doing Anything

[NBC Philly] - "ROOKS: Almost like a consultant, that'd be really nice if you were -

"IVERSON: That's all. Even if it was that. I would be the happiest in the world. And the money thing? Ain't got nothing to do with it. It's just me being me, and me being a Sixer and wanting to help. I don't know why nothing's been put in place.

"And I still love y'all. Don't get it twisted. It's all love, and it ain't going nowhere, but I just... it's something that I don't understand

I'm not in the business of giving free advice to the Sixers, because, well, fuck them. I hate their organization. I hate all the Philly teams. So instead we'll make fun of how dumb they are. You have one of the most beloved players in franchise history basically begging to help you. He doesn't care about money. He doesn't care about anything besides helping you. Yet he's just sitting there not being called. Do you know how dumb you have to be here?

We can sit here and debate whether or not AI's game would translate to today. But what's the point? That's a dumbass argument. Here's what I do know. Allen Iverson was a fucking competitive asshole and I mean that as the biggest compliment ever. Outside of lack of shooting and figuring out how to play correctly, this is the Sixers biggest problem. They lack the alpha dog mentality that Iverson thrived on. He didn't give a shit, he was just going to go after you at all times. Whether he was the best player on the floor or not, he believed he was and he believed he could win the Sixers a game. Hell, it wasn't even just the Sixers, it was back to Georgetown too.

Here's the other thing. Allen Iverson is basically the only player from the generation we grew up with who actually is willing to praise current players. The whole 'back in my day' bullshit is just that. Bullshit. Iverson actually understands Steph Curry could play in any era. He would be willing to put his ego aside and work with current Sixers players. Like he said he doesn't care if he's a consultant or anything. He just wants to help.

I'll tell you what. Go hire him, Leon Rose. Piss off Sixers fans and let him work with Kemba and RJ and IQ and Rose.
