Derrick Rose Can Clearly Predict The Future And Because Of That He's Currently Saving The Knicks

I can't believe in the year 2021 I'm talking about the Knicks getting homecourt advantage in the first round of the playoffs AND Derrick Rose being a main reason why. We all know Julius Randle is All-NBA. We all know RJ Barrett would have an argument for most improved if it wasn't for Randle. But then there's Derrick Rose. A trade that everyone kind of dismissed when it happened has saved the Knicks. Shit, the only person who really, truly believed in the Knicks at the time was Rose. Remember his request? 

These were the standings on February 12th: 

Fast forward to May 10th and this is where we are at: 

Ho hum 27-15 since then while the Pistons went 13-30. The man can predict the future. It wasn't a lock the Knicks were going to make the playoffs when he was traded, even with the top-10 making it this year with the play-in tournament. Clearly Rose saw something. He probably saw Thibs who might just be his best friend in the world. I'm starting to think Rose was onto something years ago, just missed it the first time around. 

Rose's turnaround has been nothing short of awesome. The dude was so, so good before his injuries. It's almost like so many people forget what he was capable of at Memphis and early on with the Bulls. There's a reason he was the youngest MVP ever. He was an absolute star who was only going to get better. Fast forward to now and he's understanding his role with the Knicks. He comes off the bench and provides scoring, doesn't try to do too much and doesn't try to take anything away from the young core of guys. Part of me thinks it's him wearing 4 vs 25. 

It's time to make him a starter. Listen, thanks Elf for playing this year but he's the weak link in the starting five. I don't think plus/minus is everything, but just watching the team they look different when Elf is on/off the court. You can still stagger the lineup correctly where you bring Elf in with the starters and run IQ/Rose together which has been working. Let Rose cook against the second teams while he gets the early break. But we need a jolt for the playoffs and it's starting Rose. Stop getting down early and getting bailed out by Rose, Randle, IQ and RJ late.
