Real Life Superman/Former NFL Player Brandon Bair Rescued a Man Who Was Trapped Inside a Burning Truck After a Train Crash
We've got some real life Superman shit going down in Idaho. Former NFL player Brandon Bair was going on his day, driving to his business when he witnessed a train crash into a truck, causing a fiery blaze. You know? Normal weekend stuff. I saw a deer while walking my dog today, that's the most thrilling thing I came across. Brandon Bair is witnessing goddamn train crashes.
Anyways as he was assessing the scene Bair heard a scream from inside the truck and had no other thought but to go save that person in trouble. Read this dude talk about heading into the fire and try to picture yourself doing the same.
“It was a conscious decision that I’m going in because he needs help right now,” Bair says. “I ran up to the window and saw dripping hot flames all over inside of the truck. I could see a guy in a seatbelt and was able to reach in and get it off of him. He was talking, and I told him we had to get out of here now.”
Even though the seatbelt was off, Jenson was still pinned inside the cab. Bair climbed halfway in as the two worked together to break the steering wheel and other equipment. The 6’6″, 260-pound football player then pulled Jenson out the “teeny window.”
Not a chance! I mean simply unbelievable bravery from Brandon Bair. The article says just moments after they got away from the accident that the car completely engulfed in flames. A few seconds late and who knows how this story ends. I'm all for being humble, but Bair thinking anyone would do the same in that spot is bananas. They should rename the town after him.
Bair acknowledges two teenagers and others who stopped to help when the crash happened. He does not consider himself a hero and says anyone else would have done the same thing if they were in the same situation. He was not burned and only had a few scratches.
I can speak for myself here, and probably most of you….if a train drills a truck and causes a giant fire, there's not much I can do to help any part of the situation besides calling 9-1-1. I'm not even speaking bravery wise, like I'm 5'9" 155 and I take pride when I get the groceries in the house in only one trip. This guy who was saved was pretty lucky a 6 foot 6 260 pound mountain main was nearby. If a former kicker is driving to work and sees that accident I'm not sure we have the same article printed.
What a hero.
