Fuck Legal Weed, South Carolina Legalized Firing Squads

AP News:  The South Carolina House voted Wednesday to add a firing squad to the state’s execution methods amid a lack of lethal-injection drugs — a measure meant to jump-start executions in a state that once had one of the busiest death chambers in the nation.

We are back! Large and I had a conversation about forms of capital punishment on the Twisted History Podcast and we asked, "If you were going to be executed, how would you like to go?"

DEFINITELY NOT …

Electric Chair:  I don't enjoy getting shocked when reaching for the car door, definitely don't want 2,000 volts flowing through me and becoming a shitty when you nut and she keep suckin' meme in my last moments on Earth.

Hanging: Hanging has been used as a form of execution forever, which is why hanging has the highest total botched executions. This is why you can count me out. The hangman's noose is supposed to cut off blood supply when you drop, killing you rather quickly, but if the rope is tied wrong you only cut off the oxygen and literally hang out while waiting to die of asphyxiation. I weigh 140 pounds. My own bodyweight can't kill me, I'd simply be a wind chime. Meanwhile, the law couldn't find a rope with the tensile strength to support Large.

Lethal Injection: The highest botch % rate by a long shot is lethal injection. When you are injecting chemicals into someone's body there is a lot of math. Math is hard. People make mistakes. No way I want to be a blinking vegetable strapped down to a table. South Carolina is the first state to legalize a firing squad since Utah in 2015, to follow suit with Missississippi and Oklahoma. 3 chemicals I've never heard of go into the lethal injection serum, and one of them, sodium thiopental, is in short supply nationwide, causing prisons with death row to switch up capital punishment.

How did Large and I decide we'd like to be executed ???

Firing Squad: Quick. Easy. Done. Straight up shooting someone feels inhumane and a bit disrespectful, but anything seems better when one of your options is getting cooked in a fucking chair.

We talk all about botched executions, wild methods of executions, and historic executions on the Twisted History podcast.
