It's Happening: The NYPD Is Allegedly Using "Robot Dogs" To Help Catch Bad Guys

I don't know whether or not this video is current but I'm going to assume it is. The weather matches up for this time of year and Boston Dynamics just put out an article bragging about its newest "robot dog." Regardless, people are freaking out to the point where #BlackMirror was trending in the US...

Personally I don't understand what the big deal is. Like are people actually afraid of this thing or do they just not like the fact that it's a robot? Because I feel like unless it has a gun you can pretty much just kick it over. It's also wayyyy less dangerous than a real dog. Not only that, it has a to have a human operator to work. If the human operator was a ten year old Fortnite kid I'd be scared, but it's not- it's an adult cop who's most likely terrible at video games…

I just can't see how this is the future. This arrest feels more like a trail run than anything else. Regardless, I feel bad for the guy who got locked up. Imagine being the first person apprehended by a robot? Oh well. Best of luck to him in the future, he's going to need it.
