Let's Talk About The Bilderberg Meetings

Last year when I was still writing under White Sox Dave's name I did this big deep dive into the Georgia Guidestones. 

It was pretty well received and news to a lot of people. KFC did a great mail time episode based on it. 

Figured now would be good for a follow-up look behind the curtain of who the power players are behind everything and pulling the strings: The Bilderberg Group.

First off, what the hell is the Bilderberg Group? And Why is it called that?

The Bilderberg Meeting is an annual event comprised of a collection of some of the world's most powerful people from politics, big businesses, financiers, academics, and influential members of the media and technology. It gets together to discuss how to keep on being powerful and other secret classified things the public isn't worthy of knowing, all behind closed doors. No press, or non-invited attendees are welcome or have any idea what is discussed.

The meeting, and group, got the name because the first conference was held at the Bilderberg Hotel (Hotel de Bilderberg) in Oosterbeek, Netherlands, from 29 to 31 May 1954. Since then it has been held every year, for three days, always in a different location.

How did this begin?

The Bilderberg gathering began in the middle of the Cold War as a discussion club for European and American leaders intended to be a bulwark against Communist ideology.  

Participants are invited by members of the steering committee and the guest list changes annually. The group itself claims to have been grown out of high-minded concerns that Europe and the US were not working together on "issues of common interest".
The group began as a way to create more cooperation between Europe and North America during the Cold War, and Bilderberg releases an annual list of the people who will attend and the topics they’ll discuss, but beyond that, little leaves the walls of the meeting rooms.

When questioned on the need for secrecy the group insists that its secrecy allowed world leaders and economists "to speak openly and plainly". 

How are the world's most powerful people and our government leaders able to meet and never disclose anything? That seems fucked.

It is pretty fucked. But they get around this by giving us crumbs. Bilderberg operates under this thing called the "Chatham House Rule", which allows those who attend the meetings to use the information they collect but not to disclose who said what, according to Bilderberg’s website. That has spurred conspiracy theorists to claim that the group is imposing a new world order and playing kingmaker around the world.

The Bilderberg Meetings website describes the gatherings as “a forum for informal discussions about major issues facing the world” and says no votes are taken and policy statements are not issued. Notes or minutes of the meeting aren’t taken either, giving conspiracy theorists even more reason to question what happens behind Bilderberg’s closed doors.

It also didn't help things when in the year 2000, British politician Dennis Healy, who somehow had been a Bilderberg member for decades before he was even in office, said the following to the press-

“To say we were striving for a one-world government is exaggerated, but not wholly unfair. Those of us in Bilderberg felt we couldn’t go on forever fighting one another for nothing and killing people and rendering millions homeless. So we felt that a single community throughout the world would be a good thing.”

Healy was a British Labour Party politician who served as Chancellor of the Exchequer from 1974 to 1979 and as Secretary of State for Defense from 1964 to 1970. He remained the longest-serving Defence Secretary to date. He was basically a lifer career politician over there.

Wait, So Did Bilderberg Help This Guy Get Into A Place of Power?

Possibly. But that's not the only person who was a member before rising to power. Bill Clinton was at the meetings in 1991 before he was president and Tony Blair was also present in 1993 before he became the British prime minister

What The Fuck Is One World Government?

Bilderberg is a top subject among conspiracy theorists who argue that the group has the power to start wars and become a kind of shadow world government.

Alex Jones has been the loudest critic of the group.

“Bilderberg is literally our Superbowl here at Infowars,” said John Bowne, a crewmember filling in for Jones on-air that weekend back at the Austin, T.X. radio command-center.

In the face of such criticism, the club has gone from a quasi-secret institution to simply a discreet one. For a few years it has maintained this simple site, which says the meetings have one main goal: “to foster discussion and dialogue”.

“There is no desired outcome,” it continues. “There is no closing statement, there are no resolutions proposed or votes taken, and the organization does not support any political party or viewpoint.”

Sure guys.

Anytime a group of elites says shit like this, thinking the non-1-percenters are fucking morons it only fuels the conspiracy theories.

The New World Order (not to be confused with Hollywood Hogan's NWO, or Kevin Nash's nWo Wolfpack) is a theory that hypothesizes a secretly emerging totalitarian world government made up of a group of secretive power elites with a globalist agenda who are conspiring to eventually rule the world through an authoritarian world government. They believe this One World Government will replace sovereign nation-states—and include an all-encompassing propaganda whose ideology hails the establishment of the New World Order as the culmination of history's progress. 

Many influential historical and contemporary figures have therefore been alleged to be part of a cabal that operates through many front organizations to orchestrate significant political and financial events, ranging from causing systemic crises to pushing through controversial policies, at both national and international levels, as steps in an ongoing plot to achieve world domination.

Before the early 1990s, New World Order conspiracism was limited to two American countercultures, primarily the militantly anti-government right and secondarily that part of fundamentalist Christianity concerned with the end-time emergence of the Antichrist. Skeptics, such as Michael Barkun and Chip Berlet, observed that right-wing populist conspiracy theories about a New World Order had not only been embraced by many seekers of stigmatized knowledge but had seeped into popular culture, thereby inaugurating a period during the late 20th and early 21st centuries in the United States where people are actively preparing for apocalyptic millenarian scenarios.Those political scientists are concerned that mass hysteria over New World Order conspiracy theories could eventually have devastating effects on American political life, ranging from escalating lone-wolf terrorism to the rise to power of authoritarian ultranationalist demagogues. - wiki

Many have predicted an elite globalist conspiracy to impose a tyrannical one world governing structure as the fulfillment of the Biblical "end times" prophecy. They claim that people who have made a deal with the devil to gain wealth, power, and status are pawns in the supernatural battle between good and evil and they are moving humanity into not only one world government, but later, one world religion. This religion, of course, according to believers, is evil and worships the "unholy trinity" of satan, the antichrist, and the false prophet. 

In many contemporary Christian conspiracy theories, the False Prophet will be either the last pope of the Catholic Church (groomed and installed by an Alta Vendita or Jesuit conspiracy), a guru from the New Age movement, or even the leader of an elite fundamentalist Christian organization like the Fellowship, while the Antichrist will be either the President of the European Union, the Caliph of a pan-Islamic state, or even the Secretary-General of the United Nations.

Theorists see the Freemasons as major culprits of installing this devil worshipping ideology and believe it has been prevalent since the advent of America. 

Conspiracy theorists also allege that the Illiminutai is heavily involved in this. Calling the secret organization a subversive secret society that served the Jewish elites that supposedly propped up both finance capitalism and Soviet communism in order to divide and rule the world.

This is all crazy talk right?

Not to sound like a nutcase but I wish it was easier to completely discount. The issue is that throughout history we have had very intelligent intellectuals put their names next to quotes not only dignifying the idea of a one-world government but praising it.

In his 1928 book The Open Conspiracy British writer and futurist H. G. Wells promoted cosmopolitanism and offered blueprints for a world revolution and world brain to establish a technocratic world state and planned economy. Wells warned, however, in his 1940 book The New World Order that:

.. when the struggle seems to be drifting definitely towards a world social democracy, there may still be very great delays and disappointments before it becomes an efficient and beneficent world system. Countless people … will hate the new world order, be rendered unhappy by the frustration of their passions and ambitions through its advent and will die protesting against it. When we attempt to evaluate its promise, we have to bear in mind the distress of a generation or so of malcontents, many of them quite gallant and graceful-looking people.

You've also got the whole "Brave New World" scenario basically playing out in real life today, which leads to a whole other subject. 

Some conspiracy theorists have been forecasting that the global power elite are "reactionary modernists" pursuing a transhumanist agenda to develop and use human enhancement technologies in order to become a "posthuman ruling caste", while change accelerates toward a technological singularity—a theorized future point of discontinuity when events will accelerate at such a pace that normal unenhanced humans will be unable to predict or even understand the rapid changes occurring in the world around them. 

All you have to look at is the fact we now have the ability to have chips implanted in our brains via Elon Musk's Neuralink or the Bionic Company Group out of Boston, or the fact scientists can clone just about everything now, to realize we are living on the precipice of these times.

Conspiracy theorists fear the outcome will either be the emergence of a Brave New World-like dystopia—a "Brave New World Order"—or the extinction of the human species.

Holy shit, that's a lot to take in.

Yah, it is. Might make more sense why everybody is in a rush to get to Mars when you think about it.

Wait, speaking of Mars, do aliens play a role in any of this?

Glad you asked. 

The common theme in these conspiracy theories is that aliens have been among us for decades, centuries or millennia, but a government cover-up enforced by "Men in Black" has shielded the public from knowledge of a secret alien invasion. Motivated by speciesism and imperialism, these aliens have been and are secretly manipulating developments and changes in human society in order to more efficiently control and exploit human beings. In some theories, alien infiltrators have shapeshifted into human form and move freely throughout human society, even to the point of taking control of command positions in governmental, corporate, and religious institutions, and are now in the final stages of their plan to take over the world. A mythical covert government agency of the United States code-named Majestic 12 is often imagined being the shadow government which collaborates with the alien occupation and permits alien abductions, in exchange for assistance in the development and testing of military "flying saucers" at Area 51, in order for United States armed forces to achieve full-spectrum dominance. 

Skeptics, who adhere to the psychosocial hypothesis for unidentified flying objects, argue that the convergence of New World Order conspiracy theory and UFO conspiracy theory is a product of not only the era's widespread mistrust of governments and the popularity of the extraterrestrial hypothesis for UFOs but of the far right and ufologists actually joining forces. Barkun notes that the only positive side to this development is that, if conspirators plotting to rule the world are believed to be aliens, traditional human scapegoats (Freemasons, Illuminati, etc.) are downgraded or exonerated. - source

This has kind of gotten away from the Bilderberg topic so lets get back to them.

Who are some of the names that have attended this thing recently?

The attendee list changes year to year but the 140-150 member list often includes lots of familiar faces such as US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Hillary Clinton, Condaleeza Rice, Robert Rubin,  Sen. John Kerry, Sen. Lindsey Graham, former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, France’s Bruno Le Maire, Mark Rutte of the Netherlands and Germany’s Ursula von der Leyen. Other attendees have included top executives and directors from organizations like Bill Gates of Microsoft (whose name doesn't appear on the official list for some reason), Peter Thiel of PayPal, heads of BP, Goldman Sachs, Shell, the Bank of England, Google, Microsoft, and NATO. Jared Kushner, personal advisor and son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, Ueli Maurer, who held the rotating Swiss presidency last year, was the first sitting president to take part in the three days of debates. He met with business leaders from Swiss-based companies such as Roche and Credit Suisse, as well as industrialist André Kudelski. 

We've also had French Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire, Credit Suisse CEO Tidjane Thiam, Bank of England Governor Mark Carney and former Google CEO Eric Schmidt. Total CEO Patrick Pouyanne, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella are some others.

The best part is the invites are put together by an official "Steering Committee". 

Who is on the steering committee you ask?

Dutch economist Ernst van der Beugel became permanent secretary in 1960, upon Retinger's death. Prince Bernhard continued to serve as the meeting's chairman until 1976, the year of his involvement in the Lockheed affair. The position of Honorary American Secretary General has been held successively by Joseph E. Johnson of the Carnegie Endowment; William Bundy of Princeton University; Theodore L. Eliot Jr., former U.S. ambassador to Afghanistan; and Casimir A. Yost of Georgetown University's Institute for the Study of Diplomacy

It seems that of all the secret organizations that allegedly rule the world, the Bilderberg Group is the worst at hiding. They could just all meet in true secrecy, not announcing the location, or attendees whatsoever. But they do, which leads many people to speculate.

Although skeptical of New World Order conspiracism, political scientist David Rothkopf argues, in the 2008 book Superclass: The Global Power Elite and the World They Are Making, that the world population of 6 billion people is governed by an elite of 6,000 individuals. 

Until the late 20th century, governments of the great powers provided most of the superclass, accompanied by a few heads of international movements (i.e., the Pope of the Catholic Church) and entrepreneurs (Rothschilds, Rockefellers). 

According to Rothkopf, in the early 21st century, economic clout—fueled by the explosive expansion of international trade, travel and communication—rules; the nation-state's power has diminished shrinking politicians to minority power broker status; leaders in international business, finance, and the defense industry not only dominate the superclass, but they also move freely into high positions in their nations' governments and back to private life largely beyond the notice of elected legislatures (including the U.S. Congress), which remain abysmally ignorant of affairs beyond their borders. 

He asserts that the superclass's disproportionate influence over national policy is constructive but always self-interested and that across the world, few object to corruption and oppressive governments provided they can do business in these countries.

Sound familiar?

Viewing the history of the world as the history of warfare between secret societies, conspiracy theorists go further than Rothkopf, and other scholars who have studied the global power elite, by claiming that established upper-class families with "old money" who founded and finance the Bilderberg Group, Bohemian Club, Club of Rome, Council on Foreign Relations, Rhodes Trust, Skull and Bones, Trilateral Commission, and similar think tanks and private clubs, are illuminated conspirators plotting to impose a totalitarian New World Order—the implementation of an authoritarian world government controlled by the United Nations and a global central bank, which maintains political power through the financialization of the economy, regulation and restriction of speech through the concentration of media ownership, mass surveillance, widespread use of state terrorism, and an all-encompassing propaganda that creates a cult of personality around a puppet world leader and ideologizes world government as the culmination of history's progress. - source

So is the Bilderberg Meetup just an annual meeting of all these power brokers similar to the "meeting of the five families" in Godfather? Who knows? 

Last year's meeting was "postponed" due to Covid of course. And this year's has not been set yet. At least to the public's knowledge.

However, The World Economic Forum did convene in January to discuss "The Great Reset".

Not joking. That was the topic of the summit.
