Is Adam Driver Playing Austin Powers In A New Movie?

The short answer to this question is no. This is actually Driver and Gaga on the set of the movie "House of Gucci". It's an upcoming Ridley Scott banger starring the two of them, Jared Leto, Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons, Jack Huston and more. 

It Depicts the events and aftermath of the murder of Maurizio Gucci, Italian businessman and head of the fashion house Gucci, by his ex-wife Patrizia Reggiani.

This movie is for SURE going to rip because the story is pretty insane. Basically, Maurizio Gucci(Driver) inherits Gucci from his father (Irons), sues his uncle (Pacino) for full control of the company. Rudy Giuliani was actually involved in the lawsuit as well, apparently. Maurizio becomes the director, and in a little over 10 years he had basically run the company right into the ground.  He sold a big chunk of the company to an investment company, then cashed out a few years later. Fast-foward about a year and a half later, and he is gunned down while walking into his office in Milan. 

His ex-wife, Patrizia Reggiani, is accused of hiring the hitman who killed him. She denies it completely, and shows up to every court hearing DECKED OUT in Gucci. It's eventually revealed that she did, in fact, hire the hitman, and it was partially because she suspected him of cheating on him while they were married and partially because of his running of Gucci into the dirt. She gets sent to prison, tries to commit suicide, and is eventually released for good behavior (she was apparently thrilled to hear that Gaga was playing her, but pissed off that Gaga didn't show up in person to get her thoughts on how to do the role.) 

This is a fascinating story, and having a top-flight cast and a top-flight director on board for it is a recipe for a fantastic biographical drama. Make sure to keep it on your radar.
