Jordan Belfort aka The Wolf Of Wall Street Is Hosting A New Documentary On What Happened With The $GME Stock

Source - Jordan Belfort — the infamous stockbroker who inspired the hit film “The Wolf of Wall Street” — is set to host a new documentary on the sharp rise of GameStop’s stock for Discovery’s new streaming service.

The hour-long documentary, slated to air on Discovery+ with the working title “GameStop: The Wall Street Hijack,” explores how a group of amateur investors on the Reddit group WallStreetBets, rocked Wall Street by shorting stocks like GameStop.

Discovery+ said its quick turnaround documentary will feature Belfort “in a series of vignettes,” in which he will track the timeline of events and explain what happened in “layman’s terms and why we need to pay attention.” The project will also “feature insider accounts from those at the center” of what happened.

The GameStop documentary, which was produced by ITN Productions, will make its debut on Discovery+ in the UK on April 8 and then will be rolled out to the US and other markets later this year. A launch date wasn’t unveiled.

Say what you want about Jordan Belfort, but he is perfect for this job. No one, with the exception of maybe Large, knows more about pumping up the price of useless stock to make a quick buck. Sure he knowingly stole millions of dollars from investors but that's in the past. He did his time. Let's let bygones be bygones and move on.

Here's what he had to say about $GME from an interview earlier this year...

“Now I’ve found some very creative ways to make money on Wall Street, but I’ve got to say, personally, I love the fact that everyone now has the ability to organize and give the Wall Street players a run for their money, it’s a real David versus Goliath story,” Belfort said.

“I’m praying that the amateur traders are victorious but one thing I can assure you of, it’s going to be a wild ride every step of the way!”

As the GameStop saga has developed, Belfort has told outlets like Fox News that the “little guy” now has the ability to “play the same game” as the Wall Street overlords, who he claims have been “colluding” on shorting stocks.

As far as the documentary goes? I'm not sure how good it will be considering the whole GameStock fiasco just happened. For the most part the general public has lost interest. I feel like Disney+ should wait 20 years then put out the doc as a reminder, but then again what do I know? I'm just a blogger. As long as Jordan Belfort is in it I'll watch. Now here he is giving a speech at the Stratton Oakmont Christmas party in 1994. What a ham. Enjoy...
