Patrick Ewing Said That He Is Always Being Stopped By Security At Madison Square Garden To Show His ID Pass Even Though It's "My House"

Someone tell Kazoo Jimmy to tell his security guards that the 7 foot dude who looks like Patrick Ewing is Patrick Ewing. He may not have the flat top, the 33 jersey, or the gigantic knee pads bigger than full grown humans. But rest assured that's definitely him and he can do whatever the fuck he wants at Madison Square Garden since the Knicks turned into the biggest joke in basketball after he left. I'm talking shoot hoops, skate on the ice, use the ice cream machine in the concession stands, or drop a deuce in Dolan's suite.

The Big Fella sweat too much on that hardwood floor to let some random stooge in a red jacket ask for his badge. Alright, Pat was usually pouring buckets while still in the layup line. But the point remains that the Knicks relevance in the NBA during my lifetime is a direct relationship to whether or not Patrick Ewing was running up and down the floor of MSG, which means he doesn't have to flash some piece of paper with his name on it whenever Georgetown plays at The Garden. Not after this picture was taking after beating the Pacers in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

I'm even down to adding Patrick's House to the list of nicknames for The Garden alongside The Mecca and The World's Most Famous Arena after he said this following today's win against Villanova at MSG.

Incredible. Congrats on the big W, Big Pat and welcome home. Please don't turn on the franchise like your boy Oak did because the owner is a dope. We all love you and whatever Leon Rose is doing to keep that idiot out of the headlines seems to be working and is coming up aces for the Knicks. #InLeonWeTrust

UPDATE: When reached for comment, Madison Square Garden responded (JK, I always wanted to write "When reached for comment". But an MSG spokesman did email me this).

MSG Entertainment spokesman:

“Jim and Patrick have a long-standing relationship; they spoke this afternoon and reaffirmed that.  We all know, respect and appreciate what he means to The Garden and New York. Good luck to him and his Hoyas in the Big East semi-finals.”
