Trevor Bauer Is Now Striking Out Batters With Only One Eye Open

We all know how strange of a person Trevor Bauer is. We also know how damn good he is, just look at his contract and the 2020 Cy Young. He's been know to be an off the wall person with some strange techniques related to his pitching. Call him what you want, but those quirky things gets results. Now we see him literally closing his right eye on the mound and striking guys out. I have literally 0 clue what this does and why he's doing it but it's electric. He even gives the batter a little point to his eye when he's walking off the mound just to let em know. I mean if you get struck out by a guy with one eye closed you deserve to hear about it. You can see it in the second clip more, he gets the signs, nods in approval, closes an eye and lets her rip. No K on that one, just a pop out. I mean he can pitch better with one eye than half the league. Is it a cocky move? Is this the MJ free throw with the eyes closed? Not quite, but it is pretty funny. Well not if you're the batter that struck out to a guy with one eye open. He loves to get people riled up and this seems like it did the trick.

I knew that he was going to have a calculated and very intelligent response and he didn't disappoint. It also makes sense. Making himself uncomfortable to see if he can overcome it, seems like he did. People are already pissy about it because it's Bauer and he is a lightening rod for controversy. If you don't like this you're 80 years old or have a big old dump in your pants. It's not the World Series, we're in March. If he wants to pitch with an eye patch on next let him. Guy is just trying to set himself up for success.

This guy knows exactly what he's doing too. We need characters like this in baseball. Love him or hate his guts, you're gonna see his face and know what he's doing every fifth day. He'll always find a way yo make himself part of the story.
