This Ronald Acuña Jr. Topps Project 70 Card May Be The Coolest Baseball Card Ever

My jaw dropped when I saw this Ronald Acuña Jr. card last week on Instagram. It's part of the insanely awesome looking Topps Project 70, celebrating 70 years of Topps cards. They brought in 70 different artists, musicians, and all around creative minds to design their own cards representing all the style of cards that Topps has put out there over the past 70 years. And let me tell you, these are some of the coolest cards I've ever seen in my life. Every card I've seen from the set is amazing, but this Ronald Acuña Jr. one may take the cake.

This beast was designed by Alex Pardee, an awesome artist who has worked with The Used on their album covers and also specializes in "brightmares", brightly colored nightmares. One look at the Ronnie card and you can see that he knocked it out of the park. It's terrifying, it really is, but it's also so damn cool. It has a Spawn feel to it, some horror movie vibes, maybe a little Venom from Spider-Man too. Pardee is designing 20 cards in total, so I'm insanely excited to see what the others look like if the first one is this cool. He mentioned that he wanted to use Acuña for his model because of how much he smiled and the energy he has on the field, well he hit that one right on the nose. I'm just in awe of how cool this one is, the colors, the teeth, the classic 1990 Topps card design, everything about it is perfect. When I saw it was on sale I had to grab one immediately, I couldn't pass this bad boy up. Must have for any Braves fans collection, or just anyone who appreciates awesome artwork.

While I'm just focusing on Alex's Acuña card, there are plenty of other awesome pieces going up in this set. They're releasing them 3 at a time and putting them on sale for a limited time, just a few days at a time. Once they're done they're done. We got Snoop Dogg designing some cards, Action Bronson, and a few other big names you'll recognize. A really cool idea here by Topps and I'm pretty pumped to see the rest of the set. Here are some of the other awesome ones that have been released....

Awesome stuff all around. No two cards look alike, and you can tell each card was created and designed by different artists. Some really cool art here.
