Crime Bust Of The Century: Quebec Woman Gets Arrested For Selling Fake Alexis Lafreniere PeeWee Cards
Jared Silber. Getty Images.Montreal - Quebec City police say they have arrested a 54-year-old woman in connection with the case of fake Alexis Lafreniere hockey cards circulating online.
Last December, organizers of the Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament warned of fake cards of Lafreniere from 2013 emblazoned with the tournament logo for sale on websites.
Organizers had said they came across the fake cards selling for $100 on eBay.
Imagine being an idiot right now who is wasting all of their money on Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies. Eventually that market is going to crash and all those millions of dollars you thought you had banked are going to turn into zeroes across the board. The value is going to tank at some point. It just has to.
But do you want to know what will always increase in value from today until the end of time? That's right. Alexis Lafreniere peewee hockey cards. Didn't even know that people buy peewee hockey cards? Me either until right now. But you buy yourself a Quebec Pee Wee Hockey Tournament Lafreniere card that is mint condish for $100, that sucker is going to be worth at least half a billion by the time you're ready to sell. The only issue is…well…turns out those cards were just printed by some lady with a Microsoft Word document and laminator.
And she would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for those meddling kids. But fortunately we can all go to sleep tonight knowing that we'll no longer be at risk of purchasing forged Alexis Lafreniere peewee cards as the main culprit is behind bars. My guess is that the Canadian judicial system hits her with the maximum sentence on this one. Which is a 14-day ban from Tim Horton's. She might even get two max sentences. Yikes.
