Ain't No Stoppin Obi Toppin In The Dunk Contest This Year!

Look at everything coming up Knicks yet again! Julius Randle is an All-Star, Immanuel Quickley is one of the best rookies in the league, and now Obi Toppin gets to do what he does best at All-Star Weekend: Walk on air! Leon Rose is truly a fucking magician.

Is this all one big spinzone as I try to ignore that Obi's first season has been a pretty big bummer so far? Maybe, maybe not, maybe fuck yourself. But even if Obi continues to struggle as he figures things out as a 22 year old rookie, every Knicks fan is going to be happy with this draft class simply because Quickley has been the player we've been hoping to get in the lottery for years despite getting him at pick 25. Everything Obi does this year is pretty much found money in my broken Knicks fan brain and winning a dunk contest would be the perfect random highlight to make the aforementioned broken brain happy about his rookie season. Pretty much as long as he doesn't pull a Nate Robinson and embarrass the franchise by missing the same dunk 100 times in a row, I'll be happy. I doubt teammates can accompany Obi to the All-Star game because of the coco, but if they could Derrick Rose somehow raises Obi's Overall rating by like 15 points whenever he's on the floor or maybe send IQ to All-Star Weekend as well for the 3-Point Contest in what has been the most fun Knicks season since that random blip in the Matrix back in the 2012-2013 season when the Basketball Gods allowed us to be good before Roy Hibbert sent us back to Basketball Hell.
