Artist Renderings Came Out For The A's New Stadium And It Looks Sick AF

I love looking at artist renderings of potential new stadiums because they're always so hypothetical and pie-in-the-sky, but it's always fun to dream. If I were an Oakland A's fan I'd be ALL IN on a new stadium because, well.... the O-Co looks like a complete and total dump. Just such a shit hole and until the Raiders moved to Vegas, they had to deal with hash marks and yard lines coursing through their entire field:

I couldn't find a great picture to detail how ugly it truly was in the month or two that the A's and Raiders would overlap and share the stadium, but it was so brutal. How any Big League or NFL team played there was beyond me. Imagine being an NFL RB and getting tackled on infield dirt? Fuck that. I haven't asked around but I gotta imagine the only people on earth who enjoyed it were pitchers because there was like 10 miles worth of foul ground there and foul balls that would have been 20 rows deep into the stands of 29 other stadiums were cans of corn at the O-Co.

Just google "worst stadiums in MLB" and on almost every list you'll find the Oakland Coliseum is ranked at or near dead last for just about everything.

But they're getting a new stadium (eventually) and they're not moving out of town (as of now) should this new stadium in the Jack London Square neighborhood of Oakland come to life… and the artist renderings are sick as fuck:

Looks pretty awesome to me, but I'll also admit I'm a sucker for simplicity. I don't need bells and whistles like trains in LF or apples in CF or drunken beermen sliding down shit. I need greenery, symmetry, good backgrounds and that's it other than cold beer, tailgating and awesome food. For this location, the skyline and waterway #viewz are a perfect touch. My ONLY ummm… recommendation? would be for the A's to flip this stadium so the batter is looking at the skyline instead of those crane things.

That said, if I'm an A's fan and this is what I get for putting up with the dump that's the Oakland Coliseum forever, then sign me the fuuuuuck up, even if the orientation is backwards. Beggars can't be choosers.

Here's a little behind the scenes video of their current plans:

Again, if I'm an A's fan, I want this locked up ASAP.

On a separate but similar note, there are people clamoring for the Bears to move to the plot of land in Arlington Heights where Arlington Park is currently located since Arlington is gonezo after this summer I'd be ALL for that. The bears don't have the "North Side/ South Side" distinction for them, they only use the stadium for 2 preseason/8 regular season games a year and never go to the playoffs, so I wouldn't hate them being outside of actual Chicago proper. I think most Chicagoans would agree there. Right now, it's a nightmare to get to Soldier Field for Bears games and the stadium is a giant electric shaver now. It's just… eh. But a new stadium that has a retractable roof that can host the Final 4, Super Bowl, and everything else would be incredible.

But my dumb brain tells me it'd also allow the Sox to completely and hypothetically build a new stadium where Soldier Field and Northerly Island currently is once there current deal is up 10 years from now. I know I just said it's a nightmare to get to, but my dumb brain says they can fix all of the logistical problems they currently have with the addition of a new stadium that would take a while to construct. Shit like adding an El stop there, etc.  Imagine Sox Park with a skyline view that's not housing projects and Gary Indiana? Fuck it'd be incredible:

That said, we all know Illinois and Chicago would 100% fuck that up:
