The Key To Ending Global Warming? Wooly Mammoths, Of Course

Had a great dogwalk lil chat with my guys Eddie and Chaps and one of the things that came up was that the Wooly Mammoth is making a BIG(theoretical) comeback. I've been obsessed with the wooly mammoth for as long as I can remember. Probably when I found out that Snuffleupagus was not only just a puppet, but also fucking extinct. That was devastating. I've been longing for the day when the Wooly Mammoth could just roam free across like Western Montana. Dying for that to happen and now...apparently it's possible and officially needed to you know...save planet Earth from Global warming.

TL;DW

Basically permafrost is disappearing at an alarming rate and releasing a shit ton of carbon that had be trapped underground for thousands of years into the atmosphere. And now scientists believe that the best way to fix that problem efficiently is to bring back this big hairy elephant to stomp around and eat up grass salads by the truckload so that baby grasses which take the most carbon from the atmosphere will grow back and then lock that carbon back in the dirt where it belongs.

Fucking wild shit. Is it true? I have no idea. What I do know is that I am BIG time in on the Uncle Chap's line of thinking...I just want to ride one. I would even settle for taking a picture of one that is like 100 yards away. It's an all-time sweet animal that went extinct because of an asteroid and maybe some over-hunting by our dumbass ancestors. I honestly had so much fun talking about random old shit with Chaps and Eddie. Great episode. Someday I'd love to have a podcast or a radio with Chaps, Donnie, and Eddie where all we do is sit around and talk about ancient shit and whatever else comes to mind. That's sort of the vibe we had on this ep of dogwalk. You can watch the whole thing below
