Namikos was opened by my mother in 1988, she had very little money and wanted to leave me something that She never had, stability. My mom Yuriko worked 7 days a week and 20 hours a day to make her dreams come true, before Japanese food was popular. People had not really seen a Asian food restaurant besides Chinese. It’s always been a family run restaurant, and a long standing establishment in our community. Namikos has weathered many storms but nothing like covid 19. We were forced to shut down to in house dining and resort to takeout and delivery only. Our sales declined nearly 45% and our landlords refused to help in any way until December of 2020. We were granted 3 months deferment until 2022, but with continued restrictions limiting in house dining we are struggling to keep our heads above water. My Mom passed away suddenly in 2017 from a aortic aneurysm, I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer three weeks later, my restaurant made it thru the worst of times only to face this new unprecedented obstacle. I’m desperately begging for some assistance with rent and would be eternally grateful for helping me keep my moms dream alive …….
