It Feels Inevitable JJ Watt Becomes A Pittsburgh Steeler, Doesn't It?

There ya go. TJ already publicly recruiting big brother JJ to come join him and Derek in Pittsburgh. Bit of a good news / bad news situation for Steelers fans on a Friday.

Bad news is that Maurkice Pouncey officially announced his retirement. Then almost immediately after that became public, JJ Watt sent the video that took the NFL world by storm announcing that he has asked and been granted his release from the dreadful shit show of an organization Texans.

The good news? Well, nothing close to official, but the good news is maybe the idea that Steelers fans have been talking about / dreaming of since last free agency when Derek signed in Pittsburgh could possibly actually come true now. JJ is free to sign anywhere. Now, unfortunately some more bad news is that the Steelers are really strapped for cash this offseason.

Not a lot of wiggle room to sign one of the great defensive players of our time at the end of his career. That, plus the questions of how would he fit into the Steelers traditional 3-4 scheme? Former Steelers offensive lineman Trai Essex may have the answer:

That'd be pretty damn sick. Tuitt is coming off a career year, TJ Watt probably should have been DPOY, and Heyward is about as consistent as they come. Add JJ Watt into that mix has the fans salivating thinking about the havoc that could be wrecked upfront.

There will be other suitors with more money, and honestly probably a better chance at a Lombardi than the current Steelers. Will JJ want to go back to Wisconsin and play for the Packers with Rodgers? Get paid in LA? Or does his strong family tie push it over the top for him to take a pay cut and finish out his career for an organization like the Steelers in a football town like Pittsburgh and with his brothers?

I'm starting to feel like it just might.
