We're Officially In The Weirdest Times: Derrick Rose Told The Pistons He Wanted To Go To The Knicks So He Had A Chance For The Playoffs
Fuck it, let's go make the playoffs! Typically by now, as a Knicks fan, I'm ready to tank. I'm not even talking ohh let's be competitive, no I'm in full on tank. I'm ready to lose every game by 50 points and trade anyone that has the slightest bit of value. But this year? Oh, this year we're talking playoffs though and it's not just me. It's Derrick Rose, who I've always said was the smartest person in all of the NBA. I mean he ain't wrong:
Remember there's expected to be a play-in game again. Knicks are basically already in the playoffs. Plus why would you want to play for the Pistons when you can play for Thibs, who is basically Rose's best friend.
Shit, the Knicks don't need to tank when the Mavs are doing it for them. Luka has struggled, Kristaps is a bust, Knicks won that trade straight up. Just get a top-5 pick in the NBA Draft with their pick and land one of the Cade Cunningham, Jalen Green, Jalen Suggs, Evan Mobley or Jonathan Kuminga and it's a damn heist what they did to the Mavs. Now the Knicks just need to find the right rotation, especially since there will still be moves. There's no doubt they'll move either Elfrid Payton or Austin Rivers, perhaps both. They'll go with the 3-guard look with Rose, one of them and Quickley. Not to mention that RJ can play as a lead guard for a stretch. Keep building draft capital, young assets and profit.
Welcome back Pooh, who is made for the Knicks because Pooh spell backwards is hoop.
