Damian Lillard Doesn't Give A Shit About Media Pressure, He'll Never Join A Super Team Because He Wants To Do It His Own Way

What a damn quote by Dame here. I love it. For everyone that complains that stars just want to team up, we have a legit star in Damian Lillard saying he'll refuse to leave on his own. Obviously if he gets traded that's a different story and at some point it *could* make sense for the Blazers to move on and get a ton back for him. But him saying he would straight up refuse to join a super team because he doesn't want a ring that way should make every person who pines for old school basketball smile. Super teams have always been around, it's not a new thing by any means but seeing guys like LeBron go to Miami was eye-opening for all involved. Typically it's what Dame says. Yeah, I'll try to convince a free agent to come to my team because that just makes sense. Who doesn't want to improve their own team?

Think Dame has already proven he'll do shit his own way. There were rumors that he was going to end up a Laker or play with LeBron at some point. Nope, he's still trucking along in Portland, keeping the Blazers relevant. For some reason it feels like Dame gets lost in the talk of great players. Shit, he's the exact type of guy you want on your team. He lives and dies for the Blazers and his team.

I will say the most honest part of his interview? Him talking about how the media (Shaq) always blast Chuck for not winning a ring. You're talking about one of the greatest basketball players to ever play the game and him not winning a ring despite putting up absurd numbers in the Finals as some sort of failure. It's pretty tough to beat Jordan! Just know that Dame doesn't give a fuck what the media says, he's going to do it his own way, ring or not. That should be celebrated.
