Richard Sherman Doesn't Think Jon Gruden Was Tampering To Sign Him Because 'Sports Is Just A Big Freakin' Reality Show'
[Source] - “All of this sports is just a big freakin’ reality TV show, as you know,” Sherman said, via Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area. “But I think there’s legitimate interest. They have a good team. It’s going to be a conversation. There will be a conversation with a few teams and I’ll make the decision that’s best for me and my family, and off we go.”
So a couple days ago I blogged about Jon Gruden not giving a fuck about tampering:
Just blatantly talking out loud about how he wants to sign Richard Sherman, which is 100% tampering. It's the exact definition of tampering, Gruden just doesn't give a fuck. Honestly, I love it. I watched the 30 for 30 last night about Al Davis vs the NFL. Talked all about how the Raiders are the bad boys of the NFL. That's what Gruden needs to bring back. Just go double birds to the NFL at all times like Al Davis. Accuse me of tampering? I'll tamper right in your face on your airwaves.
That said, I kind of think Sherman's comments are even funnier. The man knows he's in for a pay day as a free agent because Gruden loves him so of course he's going to downplay it. No tampering here, no sir. But the reality show comment? He's right! Sports are pretty much just reality TV with the best fucking athletes in the world (besides those on The Challenge). People can complain about the drama on/off the court/field, but everyone fucking talks about it. There's a reason those topics are always the most read, most talked about. Couple that with shit that happens on the court/field and you get the reality show. It's the best reality show out there too.
Sherman needs to be a Raider. It just feels right. One of those you see the name on the jersey and you're like yep that one matches up perfectly. Plus I want to see him and Gruden together. I love this fucking reality show man.
