James Corden Getting a Golden Globe Nomination for "The Prom" Is A Crime

What the hell are we doing here. I'm not one to really shit all over James Corden, I actually love Carpool Karaoke in all of its cheese. But a fucking Golden Globe nomination? For the movie The Prom? Here's the trailer:

The Prom was...a movie. It's extremely campy and theater based and fun to watch, lots of glitz and glamour, and the story had a good message. It had a MONSTER cast (Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, Kerry Washington, Keegan Michael-Key, Andrew Rannells, the list goes on) so I figured there was no way it could be bad. But, it kind of was. So. Oh well! I never thought about it again. The best part about it was a funky solo sing and dance number with Nicole Kidman. The rest of it was just like any other musical-turned-movie.

I woke up today to the Golden Globe nominations and I am…surprised! I wouldn't say any of these performances were award worthy. But you know who gave probably the worst performance? JAMES CORDEN. I couldn't even really tell you his storyline. That's how little I paid attention. I'm not exaggerating, he was an actual main character, and I cannot tell you a single thing about him. All I know was that he tried too hard to play a gay guy with no British accent that it absolutely took away from any sort of "acting" he could've been doing. And you're telling me we're just going to hand out a Golden Globe for the most lacklusker performance of 2020? Are the Golden Globes washed up? Call me old fashioned, but any movie that gets a FIFTY SIX PERCENT on Rotten Tomatoes, shouldn't be considered for a Globe.

Of course, the Lights, Camera Barstool gentlemen are all over this. Jeff D Lowe was FUMING about James' nomination when I got to the office. They'll be covering all of the good and the bad - let's hope it gets better.
