This Rasmus Dahlin Hip Check Needs To Be The First GIF They Put In The Hockey Hall Of Fame
I haven't been to the Hockey Hall of Fame since a peewee tournament 15 years ago in Toronto. So I'm not totally sure where their current level of technological advancement is at. But if they're ready to start slapping some GIFs up on the walls, well then this hip check from Rasmus Dahlin might deserve its own wing in the Hall.
Dear god….it's beautiful. It's magnificent!
Would it have been nice if he was a little more explosive on the elevator back up so we could have seen a cleaner flip? Maybe. But the more long, drawn out process here really does wonders for building suspense. Textbook form. Gets the full flip. And the best part here is that it went down right in front of his own bench. You know the boys were all up in Kevin Rooney's kitchen after that one. You can also see Jake McCabe help out on the dismount with a little push from the bench.
You want the next generation of hockey players to know how to execute a perfect check? You want people 100 years from now to be able to look back at how rad this game is? You put the video of this Rasmus Dahlin hip check in Toronto.
P.S. - The Alexis Lafreniere Era has officially begun. Decent night for highlights coming out of 1st overall picks.
