My father and mother started @firenzebynightSF in 1987! Over the years dad{who was born and raised in Italy in a small town} has won many awards for his excellent cooking! Some including top 100 chefs in the US, best pasta chef in Sf, & the 5 star diamond award for his gnocchi Firenze, amongst others!
My brother, paolo has been working at Firenze for almost 20 years, and I have been there for 8 now. We recently have taken over the family business and continue to make everything from pastas to sauces to braised meats in house. Due to covid, and San Francisco restaurant closures we recently had to close for the time being. We are worried for what is in store for us since there is ‘no end in sight’ for us here in SF! I am worried for my staff and their families since many of them have no government relief so I started a GoFundMe for them and raised some money but it was spread thin due to covid dragging on doe so long. We have many employees turning for us for help but we can’t continue to give out money to them if we aren’t making ends meat ourselves.
