DJ LEMAHIEU IS SIGNING BACK WITH THE YANKEES FOR SIX YEARS $90 MILLION

THERE IS A GOD. DJ LeMahieu is coming back to The Bronx to don the pinstripes for the next 6 years. Thank you sweet baby Jesus. I have life all of a sudden. The dark, depressing thought of seeing a Passan tweet saying, "DJ LeMahieu and the Ddogers are closing in a deal…" was becoming more and more of a reality by the second. Today that bullshit stops. The Yankees woke up, checked that the direct deposits hit the bank account like the rest of us and hit DJ up telling him they'll meet his demands to keep him in pinstripes for the rest of his career. Deep breath. Exhale. There's a reason to live moving forward. 

Anyone, and I mean anyone angry at this contract needs to rearrange their brain and get their shit together. This deal is FANTASTIC. DJ LeMahieu just finished in the top 5 of the AL MVP voting in back to back seasons and the Yanks got him for $15 million AAV. What a fucking robbery. DJ got his years which I'm more than fine with. He'll age like fine wine with his contact game. All the man knows how to do is hit the baseball. That will not stop anytime soon. 6/90 is a dream contract as far as I'm concerned. This will allow the Yankees to spend on a starting pitcher + reliever and still be able to stay under the luxury tax if that's their mission. This sets up Cashman very nicely for the next few weeks. 

I never bought into DJ being actually frustrated. That was all agent talk as far as I'm concerned. DJ LeMahieu only cares about the next pitch that's coming or the next ball hit his way at second base. He told his agent he's not playing anywhere else and probably was down to accept the Yankees bottom floor offer, but his agent told him he could spread some rumors and leak some bullshit to get him more. That's all that was going on here. He was never going to Toronto who doesn't know where the hell they're playing next year. LA was a scary thought but I don't think they were going to top the Yankees offer and the Mets? Not a fucking chance. 

At the end of the day the Yankees had to make this move. They called their shot, made DJ a priority, and now are bringing him back. Now let's address other needs like a fucking pitcher. Starter or reliever because we certainly need both. They're saying Corey Kluber's sweepstakes should be decided by end of the weekend. I'd like him in pinstripes as well if that's not asking too much. Let's bring back Masa. Let's get fucking cooking boys and girls. The hot stove is starting to sizzle!
