This Mickey Mantle Card Just Crushed The Record For Highest Selling Card, Sells For A Record $5.2 Million

If you thought that Zion Williamson card I blogged the other night was a cash cow, wait till you see this new record breaking card. Mickey Mantle's 1952 Topps #311 that was is a PSA 9 just went in an auction for $5.2 million. If this thing was a 10, who knows how high it would have gone. No auto, no patch, just the card itself. 1952 was the first year Topps made cards, hence why the value on this card is sky-high. The same card sold for $2.88 million back in 2018, so this card has been one of the top dogs for a while. This new price tag on it made it the most valuable card ever, passing Mike Trout's 2009 Bowman Chrome Draft Prospects Superfractor which sold for $3.9 million.

Mantle's card blew that thing outta the water, although if Trout keeps on this pace I'm sure that card will leapfrog over Mantle again. You're wondering who has the cash to make a purchase like this. Rob Gough, the CEO of DOPE, a clothing and a CBD company. If we're being honest it's not that bad of an investment, because this thing is the holy grail of cards. That price could double in the future, it was said to be the best Mantle 9 in existence. It's on the Mount Rushmore of sports cards. This just proves that the sports card hobby is back in a big way, this isn't a fad thats going to go away anytime soon. Now he can choose to make it the ultimate man cave taking point, or keep that bad boy in a vault and put it up for sale in another few years.
