Dan Shaughnessy Does It Again! Votes For Jeff Kent And Jeff Kent Only On His HOF Ballot

Like clockwork, Dan Shaughnessy has checked in with his pitiful Cooperstown ballot. Not sure if you remember, but in 2019 he voted for only Mariano Rivera, in 2020 he voted for only Derek Jeter, and this year he topped both of those ballots by voting for ONLY JEFF KENT. What the fuck are we doing here? This is why we have to take ballots away from people who don't take it seriously, or people who are trying to make a personal statement. It's literally insane. You're telling me Dan wakes up every morning and thinks Jeff Kent is the only person on this list deserving of his powerful vote into Cooperstown? Insane, just insane. The more I think about it, this is worse than the guy who waited 10 years and then voted for no-one. I'd love to hear his explanation for picking JEFF KENT AND ONLY JEFF KENT. 

He was a fine player, a very fine player. Won an MVP in 2000, Career 55.4 WAR, 377 home runs, 2,461 hits in 17 years, 5 time All Star, 4 time Silver Slugger. Very fine player. Hall Of Famer he is not. You know who deserves a vote over Kent? Manny Ramirez, Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Andruw Jones, Scott Rolen, Sammy Sosa, Gary Sheffield. Do I need to keep going? Why do we keep doing this? Why do we let these old mummies vote like this? If they make a parody of the ballot, like above, take it away. It's a slap in the face to the game. I get that it is their ballot, they earned it blah blah blah, but this is a joke. It's not a serious ballot. I legit don't understand how you can spend a majority of your life around sports, especially baseball in the historic area of Boston, and do something this stupid. It's also the first time he's voted for Kent. Why was he not a choice last year or the year before, but magically he got better this year? Guess Dan just didn't want to submit a blank ballot, which is a shame. I'd have respected that move more than this. So congrats to Dan Shaughnessy for the worst ballot in baseball!
