JUSTICE: A Judge Rules Men Not Being Able To Wear Shorts To Work Is Sexist

[Source] - STOPPING men from wearing shorts to work while allowing female colleagues to do so is sex discrimination, a judge has ruled.

The decision came in the case of a Boots worker who was told off for breaking company dress code by wearing a pair of three-quarter-length shorts into work on a hot summer day. Mukid Miah complained, saying women were allowed to wear leggings, trousers and skirts that were not full-length. He said women were “afforded a greater degree of discretion” when it came to showing their legs.

You know it just feels nice to win one here. Granted, it's hard to complain considering I'm writing this while wearing sweatpants and sitting on my recliner. But for those cube monkeys, the right to wear shorts exist now. So much so that it's sexist if you don't wear shorts. I'm a shorts guy. Not like one of those people that wear shorts when it's 40 degrees out, but in the summer, let me show off these tree trunk legs. Why not? It's comfortable, even if it's hideous. Guys look weird in khaki shorts. That's just a fact. Do I care? Nope. I'm going to wear them because it's comfortable and I don't want to worry about sweating or being hotter than I already will be. You really think it's fair for men to walk around like this at work?

This isn't even an anti-woman wearing skirt or shorts thing. Anyone should be able to wear whatever they want. I'm just glad we have a judge who realizes that. Although I just assume this Boots place will turn into The Office on Casual Friday

What we gotta talk about though is the 3/4 length shorts. It's not 2006 anymore. I assume the length of this dude's shorts looked like this

They were comfortable and I won them as MOP as Eastern Invitational (nbd), sue me. It was the mid-2000s. You can't wear those in 2021 like this guy apparently did, but if it was the mid-2000s I'd say 3/4 length shorts work. Nope, now you gotta go mid thigh, barely touch the top of the knee at best. Let that kneecap be exposed, fellas.

One of the things I always wondered is post-Covid. Are we really doing normal cube life? I lived that life for about a decade. Wearing slacks and a button up or polo. Shit, are we even doing offices anymore? I'm talking mid-level accounting bullshit. Feels like everyone is just going to work from home and be casual in the office. I never understood the whole dress up when you don't see clients or anyone. Just wear whatever you want, get your work done and go home. The 40 hour work week for a cube job doesn't even make sense. No one works for 40 hours. You get your shit done in a few hours and then spend the rest of the work day just trying to look busy when people walk by. At least now you can do it in shorts.
