Dwayne Haskins Has Been Cut From The Washington Football Team

And there it is. The end of another complicated, shitty era of Washington Football. Dwayne Haskins was a Dan Snyder draft pick, another player brought in against the coaching staff's wishes. So he already started his career behind the 8 ball as it was, and things never got better.

Simply put, he never improved or demonstrated the maturity demanded by Ron Rivera. Despite being voted as captain by his teammates, he was publicly called out for bad study habits and laziness and ultimately demoted.

I wanted Haskins to succeed so badly. We've gone through something like 30 QBs in 15 years, I just wanted Haskins to be the guy. Local kid, rocket arm, incredible college numbers. I supported the fuck out of him because I thought it was unfair to label a guy a bust after 10 games. So many QBs take time to develop- like, look at what Ryan Tannehill is currently doing after being cut loose from the Dolphins. Drew Brees was terrible when he entered the league. It took Ryan Fitzpatrick until he was 105 years old to get good. There's so many more examples. So I wanted to be patient with him, watch him develop, and then make an assessment.

But he never did. He made mistake after mistake after mistake. He broke COVID protocols twice, most notably the strip club incident. And the play on the field never backed up the hijinx off of it. Ron Rivera said he was going to come in and change the culture, and releasing a Dan Snyder draft pick is doing just that.

Hopefully Haskins gets his shit together and find success somewhere else.
