It's Never A Good Sign When Ryan Leaf Says Dwayne Haskins Is Like "Looking In A Mirror"

This is NOT what you want!

I do think there is something to say for what Ryan Leaf is getting at. We don't know enough about why some elite athletes act like Alex Smith, and others act like Ryan Leaf. I'm not ready to say Dwayne Haskins IS Ryan Leaf, but I get what he's saying and find it fascinating, because we see it pretty often in the NFL. These guys have all the talent in the world, but it then takes a special type of person to not fall victim to the money, fame, and all the noise that surrounds being a professional football player. You feel like you can do and get away with anything, because you've always been the best your entire life. The NFL will quickly chew you up and spit you out though if your brain isn't where it should be.

I don't think Dwayne Haskins at 23 years old is a lost cause or anything like that. I do think there is a lot of overreaction going on right now because a picture of him at a stripper party was leaked. But it happened, and it vindicates a lot of what people have been saying about him- namely about his immaturity and bad habits. 

It'd be silly to say he can't grow and learn and have a long NFL career. What I don't like is that this seems to be a recurring issue with him to the point Ryan Leaf is like "oh yeah, I've seen this behavior before". 

I don't know if Haskins will get fined or suspended or anything. I do know this team is 1 win a way (with a Giants loss to the Ravens) from a division title and Haskins is/was possibly going to have to start again this week due to Alex Smith's calf injury. So for Haskins to be this dumb if infuriating. If he does play this Sunday, he better go 30/30 for 500 yards.
