Pardon My Take's Football Guys of the Week Nominees Presented by Philips Norelco - Week 15

With three weeks to go in the regular season, there are only so many opportunities left to claim the title of Football Guy of the Week. Last week, Vanderbilt's Sarah Fuller won the award after taking a smelling salt like a champ. Shifting over to this week, the nominees are very, very, high-quality. Let's meet our Week 15 foursome:

Lions C Frank Ragnow - finished last week’s game after suffering a fractured throat.

Aside from the high school coach who suffered a heart attack, this was the nominee I got tagged in the most this year. A fractured throat? I had no idea that was a thing. Playing in an NFL game WITH a fractured throat? Now, that's next level stuff. Hopefully Ragnow makes a full and speedy recovery. 

Rams HC Sean McVay - Spent his off day watching twelve straight house of football on the Red Zone Channel, and when his fiancée asked if he wanted to do anything else, he said, “Nope.”

One of us! One of us! One of us! Great to see that this PMT recurring guest likes to do what we all like to do when there is time to spare. Siciliano or Hansen all day without any movement.

Nebraska LB Garrett Nelson - Played through missing two teeth after a tight end put a shoulder into his jaw. He said he “puts some straws in there once in a while. It’s pretty fun.”

Playing through something unique pretty much puts you in a good spot to be nominated for FGOTW, and that's what we have here. Our colleague, Will Compton, brought up this nomination, and it is certainly something that is deserving of making the cut. Good to see Nelson having fun with it, too.

Colts P Rigoberto Sanchez - Resumed punting duties with Indianapolis just twenty days after getting a cancerous tumor surgically removed.

This is awesome to see. What a roller coaster of emotions Sanchez must have felt over these last three weeks. Now, he finds himself back on the field and punting for a team that is in the driver's seat to make the playoffs.
