Anthony Pettis Landed The "Showtime Kick" 10 Years Ago Today

Ten years ago today, in the final minute in the final round of the final WEC event ever, Anthony Pettis ran off the side of the god damn cage like a ninja and landed what we now refer to as the "Showtime Kick" on Benson Henderson. It didn't knock Henderson out, but MAN if it ain't one of the most iconic highlights in the history of the sport!

Personally, I wasn't watching this live - at the time I wasn't into mixed martial arts to keep up with any companies outside of the UFC. I'll never forget the day this first popped up on YouTube, however; my friends and I must've watched it a thousand times in a row! Some people had conspiracy theories about it being a work (they'd say that Bendo taps his heel against the cage to let Pettis know to throw it) but we all knew that was a buncha malarkey even back then. Just a sick highlight through and through. Easily one of the best moments ever captured in the cage.

Anthony Pettis takes on Alex Moreno on Saturday, and he also just announced that he's starting his own management company for young up-and-coming fighters in attempt to give back and little bit and share his knowledge.....

Pretty cool of "Showtime" if ya ask me.

Check out this interview he did with Ariel Helwani today if you wanna hear more about him (and especially his current mindset).....
