Ever Wonder What Would Happen If We Just Dumped All Of Our Trash Into Volcanoes? Me Too!

This came up on radio somehow yesterday. No idea how. Our show just gets weird sometimes. Anyways, this is something I have thought about often. Garbage is a GIANT problem. All I ever hear about is global warming, bees dying, plastic waste polluting the oceans, and 6-pack rings getting stuck on dolphin snouts and killing them. I mean look at this island in the pacific

I hate it. It's disgusting. And...I want it gone. I also know that we have an abundance of mountains, with holes at the top which are filled with liquid hot magma just sitting there all hot and bothered with no real purpose in life except for looking absolutely terrifying. I am talking about volcanoes. I say we just collect all the plastic, put it on a ship, and bring it to one of the probably thousands of active volcanoes around the world. People, almost universally on twitter reacted like this...

Hey, IDIOTS…ever heard of "geothermal energy". This isn't the same as just straight up burning trash in an incinerator. The core of the Earth is already on fire. We won't need to use fossil fuels to burn this trash or any other energy source. The ships transporting the garbage could even be sailboats. Wind powered. Then, you simply add the garbage to the volcano which already burning anyways and just burn more shit. It's already putting out fumes into the atmosphere. Seems like a great solution. An experiment worth running. Here is what happens:

Okay, so maybe this idea needs to be workshopped a bit. That might have been the wrong kind of lava to be honest. I envisioned a more liquid version than just throwing a bag of trash on top of a crusty layer.

There's that Bobby Kennedy quote "some people look at things as they are and ask why? I think of things that never were and ask 'why not?". That's a great way to think…unless you're a moron like me. If you're a moron who thinks lava garbage disposals are a good idea then maybe think less. Back to the drawing board for me. If you've got dumb ideas like this though, I want to hear them. If we get a 1000 morons together with their craziest ideas we are bound to stumble on one great idea worth a billion dollars. Are 1000 morons smarter than one genius? Let's find out. Leave you best dumb ideas in the comments or hit me up on twittercom
