Soccer Match Between Rivals Gave Us A Player Delivering A Goddamn Kung Fu Kick To The Ref While Fans Stormed The Field
[Sun] - Neftchi Fergana and Turon Yaypan were battling it out in a winner-takes-all promotion clash on the final day of the league season in the Uzbekistan Pro League.
At the final whistle, all hell broke loose, with furious Neftchi players provoking disgraceful scenes - leading to the referee running for dear life. An angry mob of fans ran on the pitch and towards the helpless official.
And one player, named in local press as Shavkat Nasibullayev, took things way further. The 36-year-old defender launched a flying kung-fu kick at the referee, sending him sprawling.
You know what they say about soccer in Uzbekistan? Just throw away the record books when rivals get together. You never know what's going to happen. Not when a ticket to the Uzbekistan Super League is on the line. Gotta admit the fact it's called Super League makes it sound WAY more prestigious than what it actually is. We're still talking Uzbekistan here.
But back to the fight here. There apparently was no rhyme or reason to it besides Neftchi pissed that they lost. Been there before. But the fact that it's a 36-year old delivering the kung fu kick here? That shit is impressive. 36 is no spring chicken, especially in the sports world. You're talking a guy near retirement and he's flying around out here like HBK in his prime. Delivered it right to the chest too. Didn't miss his target.
Then there's the ref. Talk about an athlete and I'm someone who hates refs. He gets some cleats to the sternum and immediately hops up and shows off elusive speed that Barry Sanders is jealous of. He made his way to the tunnel with a mob of people chasing him wanting to straight up murder him. That's what instincts kick in. That's where you don't worry about pain. You get to the locker room, lock the door and then examine injuries while you try to plan an escape route.
PS: The craziest person in the world is the one taping this and manically laughing during it all.
