Yasiel Puig Is Planning On Playing Baseball In 2021 And The Orioles Are Interested
So as you all remember, last season the Orioles were kicking the tires on Yasiel Puig and even offered him a contract, but that was before he signed a 1-year deal with the Braves and then tested positive for Covid-19 and never stepped on the field for Atlanta. Now he is fully recovered, signed with Rachel Luba and Luba Sports and just recently made an announcement that he is ready to go for 2021, why not make that new start in Baltimore?
He's looking to prove he can still play, because that is a question being asked. After sitting out all 2020, he's gotta prove he still has it. Mark Feinsand from MLB.com has reported that the Orioles, Astros, and Red Sox are the teams interested the most in Puig, with other teams also kicking the tires. As I wrote in July, I'd love to see him in Baltimore. They'd likely sign him to a 1 or 2 year deal, if he has a good first half, they'll flip him for prospects and we'll move on. It's a win-win because he could get his feet back under him, get some ABs, prove he can still swing it and then head to a team looking to bolster their lineup in a playoff run. It's a crowded outfield in Baltimore but again, he likely won't be there long and may be able to teach the young guys a thing or two. So let's run it back from July, let's get weird and we'll see you in Baltimore hopefully. Maybe dye that hair orange too. Baltimore mayyyyyy be the best situation too? Red Sox finished in LAST PLACE, they're losers. Astros are the biggest cheaters in the entire history of the world, so why not come to Baltimore, eat come crab cakes and then head out to a playoff contender? Makes sense to me.
