Tommy Stats Thanksgiving Edition: How Do The Lions And Cowboys Usually Fare?

We had a special Thanksgiving episode of Survivor so here's a special of stats. Below is my entire cheat sheet I used for Advisors this week. Lines courtesy of the Barstool Sportsbook, subject to change from the time I compiled this.

Houston Texans (3-7, 3-7 ATS) @ Detroit Lions (4-6, 4-6 ATS)

The Lions Thanksgiving game is one of my favorite games of the year. I don't know why I love it so much. I think it's how their uniforms look and it makes my mind know food is close to being served. One of my favorite Lions Thanksgiving games ever was actually the 2012 Lions-Texans game when Calvin and Andre Johnson both went absolute bonkers. 

Anyway, enough anecdotes. Onto the statistics…

-The Lions have covered 6 of their last 8 on Thanksgiving. They’ve covered 4 straight on Thanksgiving when playing off a loss

-All time the Lions are 37-41-2 SU on Thanksgiving

Some good news for The Overs Club…

-The over has hit in 7 of their last on 10 Thanksgiving

-The over is 10-1 in the Lions last 11 home games. The over is 4-1 in Texans road games this season

Washington Football Team (3-7, 5-5 ATS) @ Dallas Cowboys (3-7, 2-8 ATS)

4:30 PM on FOX

-Last 9 seasons on Thanksgiving, the Cowboys are just 2-7 ATS

-All time, the Cowboys are 31-20-1 SU on Thanksgiving 

-WFT is 2-5 ATS last 7 against Dallas, 4-10 ATS against NFC East

BUT, they now have Alex Smith as their starter, who is one of the more profitable quarterbacks throughout his career. 

-Alex Smith is 11-4 ATS in his last 15 as a starter (93-68-1 ATS in his career, 57%)

This game is now cancelled, but keep the stats in mind for Sunday. 

Baltimore Ravens (6-4, 4-6 ATS) @ Pittsburgh Steelers (10-0, 8-2 ATS)

When the Ravens and Steelers play, it's usually a pretty good idea to just take the points. 

-The underdog has covered 9 of the last 10

-The underdog is 19-7-3 in last 29 matchup
