13 News - Police say they charged a woman driving a private school bus filled with children with driving while under the influence of drugs. 60-year-old Dorothy L. Youngs was stopped on Shore Drive near Urchin Road around 3:25 p.m. Monday after people reported a suspected intoxicated/reckess driver, authorities said. An eyewitness captured video while officers were performing a field sobriety test on Youngs. “She was falling over, and she wasn’t counting right, she was like one three seven four, all over,” said Hunter Moore, who works nearby. The bus was carrying children ranging in age from 5 to 12 years.

Let’s all calm down for a second. Everyone has woken up in the morning still drunk and/or high from the night before and gone into work with your head spinning. Maybe you even had a little more that morning if you needed a pick-me-up before heading into the office. But the thing is, most people get to sit in a cube and fake work from 9-5, doing as little work as possible. Just dry heaving and being dizzy and putting conference calls on mute as you click away on the internet. So the way I see it, it’s simply unlucky that this woman just so happens to drive a school bus full of children. If you look at it like that, she’s just doing a job like everyone else, so who are we to throw stones? If you haven’t gone to work a little fucked up, then sure, judge away from your high horse in Moral City. Otherwise, let’s all give this woman a break.
