Marcus Stroman Is Returning To The Mets After Accepting His Qualifying Offer

I don’t know if Stroman returning was a product of Uncle Stevie’s press conference yesterday, coronavirus making $19 million a pretty decent one year deal as teams look to shed payroll, or a mix of both. But I do know that the Mets rotation looks to be rounding into form pretty quickly and a pitcher like Stroman is going to look a heck of a lot better if Sandy Alderson actually makes the Mets even a decent defensive baseball team, which should lead to more electric moments like this.

UPDATE: I guess the press conference didn’t hurt!
