The Barstool Bench Mob Has Arrived: Everything You Need to Know About the Newest College Basketball Podcast Out There

College Basketball Opening Night is just two weeks from tomorrow! And with that, Barstool's official podcast for this unpredictable sport has arrived.

Welcome to the Barstool Bench Mob. Starting this Thursday, a weekly show covering all angles of college hoops will be officially live under the Barstool network. You probably have plenty of questions, but here is a breakdown of what to expect from our coverage this season:

What is Barstool Bench Mob? BBM will be a college hoops podcast unlike anything you've listened to before. When two hardcore gamblers and college hoops lovers join forces with a Big J, nobody knows the exact direction this show will take. We will occasionally have interviews with guests ranging from coaches, ex-players, broadcasters, and everyone else in between that will make this a one-of-a-kind show leading up to the Big Dance in March.

Who are the hosts? Marty Mush, Rico Bosco, and I will be on the mic for each and every episode. Each of them (Duke fans) have extensive knowledge for college basketball (largely thanks to their ups and downs on the gambling front), while this is the sport I am most passionate about. After growing up a Florida fan, going to a big time basketball school (Syracuse), and spending a couple of seasons embedded in a mid-major program (Vermont), the three of us bring different strengths to the table that we believe will help the show flourish.

When will the podcast be released? Our premiere episode is set to come out this Thursday, Nov. 12. The plan is to release a new show every Thursday (holiday weeks may be moved around) on Apple and Spotify. Subscribe HERE to ensure that you never miss an episode of the Barstool Bench Mob.

Can we expect other college hoops content in addition to the podcast? Absolutely! Big picture, the plan is to eventually make it out to various games and campuses to document the experience at some of the country's finest college basketball schools. Unfortunately, due to COVID, that plan will most likely be put on hold for the time being. Also, although the podcast will be coming out once per week, we are going to hold various live sessions on Periscope and/or Instagram throughout the season. These will be open-ended and can include anything from making picks, live reactions, and answering questions from you all.

Is the podcast going to be just during the season or year-round? As of now, we are going to run the show from now until the week after the Final Four. But nothing is set in stone, and depending on how things go, we can play that by ear.

We are very excited to get things going later this week. I think we can all agree that college basketball is the sport that had the heaviest impact due to the pandemic (I still can't believe we missed out on March Madness). This is going to be a season unlike any other, but starting November 25th, the road to the Big Dance begins for the 357 teams around the country. We hope you can join us!
