Report: OBJ "Never Really Embraced Cleveland" And May Have Played His Last Game As A Brown

Wow. Let me get out my notepad and jot down some pointers from this fantastic example of how to be a clickbaity, rumor swirling reporter with no facts. I mean, this is some real in-depth, hard hitting journalism here from Ian Rapoport. Reporting that Odell Beckham MAY have played his last game in Cleveland. You can miss me with this Skip Bayless, leave yourself room on both sides of the argument to be right, type of thing. This is typical sports talk radio babbling from an NFL insider that knows better than this. I guess Ian needed some interaction on social today. Must have a quota to hit to get his bonuses.

"Hmmmmm....what can I do to stir some headlines? Ahh, let's talk about Odell Beckham Jr, who will definitely be on the Browns roster at the start of the league year. But let's cook up some rumors that he MIGHT be traded! To who? No idea. For what? No idea. But he MIGHT BE!!!"

Guys, Odell Beckham has rumored to be on the trading block every single day for the last 12 months. Sad, sad reporting from Ian Rapoport. Using the Cleveland Browns as clickbait because he knows we drive traffic. And I'm not even going to entertain the idea that Odell "never really embraced Cleveland" or Baker Mayfield. What gives you that notion? Does he need to come out and say it? Oh wait, he has. He says he loves Cleveland. Reporters are just using the narrative that the Browns are a joke and the city of Cleveland sucks to drive up false information that OBJ is unhappy here. Find a new slant. He's fine.

Listen, the only thing Ian said that was factual is that the Browns play their first game without OBJ today. And the more important question than if we'll be moving him in the Spring or Summer would be, does this actually help Baker? Me (guy with a brain) says absolutely not. I'll take having more talent over less talent any day of the week. Find a way to make the divas work in the locker room instead of finding ways to make nice, kind, hardworking guys faster, stronger, and better at football. BUT, the numbers say differently.....

I mean, yeah. Baker does force it to OBJ when he's in there. Probably to keep him happy. And maybe that's what accounts for the lower completion percentage and 12 more interceptions. I'll say this: I'd still rather have a healthy OBJ, but I'm intrigued to see Baker use his weapons without the fear of a temper tantrum on the sidelines because Odell isn't get the ball enough.

Either way, let's let the Browns figure this one out. There is absolutely no reason to be talking trades right now.....which I can guarantee you they aren't.......when they are looking to move to 6-2 today. I can't believe I was able to type that without a read squiggley line showing up underneath. 6-2 with a win today. Could you imagine? And they're favorites!!!
