A Bunch Of College Kids Jumped Out Of Their Dorm Windows Because Campus Security Tried To Break Up Their Party
Source - A group of students have been filmed jumping from windows in a university residence hall in a desperate bid to escape from campus security staff during a lockdown party search.
The incident is believed to have taken place at the University of Salford in Greater Manchester after security guards went to investigate a "gathering" on Wednesday, October 21.
Footage shared on social media shows at least 10 young men and women are climbing through the small opening of the window on the first floor and jumping to the ground.
The Video:
Call me crazy, but this seems like a bit of an overreaction. Don't get wrong, I love it, but what's the worst that can happen if you stay at that party? A ticket? A fine? Disciplinary action from the school? All of those seem much better than a broken ankle. Although I will give it to them, they did use teamwork...
The only person who may have gotten hurt was the genius who decided to jump before her friends were there to catch her...
Having said that, running from a party is something I feel like is a right of passage during college/high school/middle school depending on how trashy you are. I distinctly remember several occasions where the police would show up to an event and me and my friends would have to book it. The cops didn't care either, they just wanted us to go away, which we were more than happy to do.
Here's what the University had to say about the incident:
A spokesman for the University of Salford told Manchester Evening News that action was being taken against those involved in the incident.
In a statement, the university said: "We are aware of a video circulating on social media showing an incident at Peel Park Quarter.
"Security were called and dealt with it on the night and action is being taken with regards to those involved. "Students have been, and continue to be, reminded about the rules and behaviour that is expected of them."
^^Not the typical response from a school administration. Good on them. Hopefully everyone involved learned their lesson and can get back to *safely partying this weekend.
