Marcus Stroman Just Went Off On Twitter And Naturally Called Out Brian Cashman And The Yankees

It's the offseason for every baseball player not on the Rays or Dodgers, which means free agency is only a few weeks away. We've seen Trevor Bauer try to brand himself to virtually every fanbase in Major League Baseball, trying to raise his value in any which way. Marcus Stroman tried to do this today and shit proceeded to go off the rails quick when his distaste for the Yankees come out to play.

Now if you recall, during the 2019 trade deadline the Yankees were interested in acquiring Stroman from the Jays. The deal breaker ended up being Deivi Garcia who went on to debut in 2020 and shine in the Yankees rotation as just a 21 year old. Cashman had a quote saying that he didn't think Stroman was a difference maker and that he would have likely been used out of the pen in the 2nd half and into the postseason. The right hander took those comments to heart and will likely never let them go it seems. I don't really have a problem with that to be honest. If you have heart in your heart, let it out. Wanna use that as motivation? Go for it.

I used to really like Stroman. Dude wears his heart on his sleeve and pitches with emotion. He uses every little ounce of his 5 foot 7 frame to get the most out of his pitches and be effective. That being said he'll be on the wrong side of 30 next year and will probably be looking for a prove it deal in 2021. Not so sure that guy should be talking shit that he's a better pitcher than literally every Yankee not named Gerrit Cole. We forgetting about Deivi Garcia who is 21 years old and only going to better? What about Clarke Schmidt who has all the makings of a front line starter in the league. There's that Severino guy too who isn't too bad. Even Domingo German. I see his confidence and I respect that, but check yourself dude.

After the tweets caught everyone's attention Stroman backtracked after probably getting a few texts from his people. Now he doesn't hold grudges!

So much for the whole part where you're never going to forget the Cashman line about you not being a difference maker as well as the tweet about being better than every pitcher on the Yankees not named Cole. But you don't hold grudges right?

I think Stroman is a fine pitcher, but in reality he's no better than a 3 or 4 on a true contender. Did I miss the part where he's this bonafide ace? He's an up and down starter with a career 4.40 ERA in the postseason. With Severino healthy and those two in the mix over the next 5-7 years there's a real chance he's not good enough to be in this five man rotation in the future. Right this very second? Sure, I'll take him over Happ and Paxton, but those guys likely aren't in the mix in 2021, never mind over the next 5-7.

Free agency should fun huh? Let the games begin.
