Nic Cage Tells Marilyn Manson The Story Of The Last Time He Gambled: 30 Years Ago, When He Turned 200 Bucks Into $20,000 Playing Roulette In The Bahamas Then Walked To The Closest Orphanage And Gave It To The Kids
I don't know why you even came down here. You saw the headline right? You read it?
Nic Cage Tells Marilyn Manson The Story Of The Last Time He Gambled 30 Years Ago: He Turned 200 Bucks Into $20,000 Playing Roulette In The Bahamas Then Walked To The Closest Orphanage And Gave Them All The Cash
Right, that headline. Soo...
What are you expecting me to do with this story exactly. Add to it?
"The last time I gambled was about 30 years ago," Cage recalled. "I was in the Bahamas, and I walked into a casino and felt like I had my mojo with me, like nothing could go wrong. My game was roulette. I went in with $200, and I didn't miss a number, so much so that even the lady spinning the wheel said, 'Nothing sweeter than a repeater.'
In 20 minutes I turned $200 into $20,000, so I went and found an orphanage in the Bahamas, met all the kids and the headmistress, and said, 'This is for you.' I put the 20 grand in her hand, walked away, and never gambled again, because if I did, it would ruin the power of that moment."
Did van Gogh's intern doodle some finishing touches on Starry Night?
Sometimes what makes you great at your job is knowing when to not do it. There are two people and two people only who have a right to add to this story: Nic Cage, and any 35-45 year old parentless Bahamian who one time was handed a brick of cash in a rubber band by Nic Cage.
Offer stands in perpetuity.
