Joe Buck Will Call 11 Games In Five Different Cities Over The Next 12 Days

*Technically he may only call 8 games depending on how long the World Series lasts but that headline doesn't work as well

Joe Buck is is in the midst of having himself a busy couple of weeks. Starting with yesterday's Packers-Bucs game, he will be calling the World Series and four different NFL games over the course of 12 days in five different cities. From Tampa to Kansas City to Texas to Philadelphia to Texas again and finally to New Orleans.

People on Twitter calling Joe Buck a great American hero like he's about to go off to war are being a bit dramatic. Everyone would kill to have a job where you announce the biggest games in sports. Nobody is shedding any tears for him. But it is still a wildly impressive body of work and not easy to do. Football broadcasts  ideally require an entire week of prep work. He'll be doing four different NFL games in 12 days. And also calling the championship series of an entirely different sport. I'm sure FOX has plenty of people on staff to help him with research and produce his boards. But you still need to have a pretty deep familiarity with both teams and all their players for any game you broadcast. It's not just showing up and explaining what you see for three hours. Joe Buck always does a great job of at least making you think he knows what he's talking about. I'm sure he's had to bullshit some things as you can't properly prepare for all these games in this many days, but you would never know it.

Joe Buck gets a lot of shit, but he's the best big game announcer of our time. You hear his voice and you immediately know it's a big game. If everyone thinks he hates their team then that means he's probably doing a pretty good job. And while many people seem to think he's a smug asshole, he's done a good job of showing his human side over the past few years, from his appearances on Pardon My Take to his interview with Big Cat and A-Rod on The Corp. That was a super insightful interview if you haven't had the chance to listen to it yet.

If you're a Joe Buck hater, it's going to be a tough two weeks for you because it'll be impossible to avoid his voice wherever you go.

And just for good measure, throwback to the classic Randy Moss call
