Maisie Williams Came Up With Another Game of Thrones Ending That Would Have Been Better Than the Trash We Got

Everyone has already litigated the final season of Game of Thrones so many times that I don't even know what can be said about it anymore, but Maisie Williams offered her take on what she wishes would have happened at the end of the show. And spoiler alert: it's better than what the two wannabe Star Wars guys came up with.

Now this had obviously been talked about for a long time, so it's not like Williams necessarily came up with this ending. But it sure as hell would have made the finale at least a bit better.

I didn't necessarily have the biggest problem with the way Cersei died — everything she built literally crumbling upon her and still technically "at the hands" of one of her younger brothers, as Maggy the Frog's prophecy suggested — but I did have a problem with the whole Arya and the Night King deal, which was just pretty ridiculous. So obviously we couldn't have Arya kill Cersei as Jaime, because then the clowns that wrote the final season of this show would have had to figure out what the hell to do with the scary ice monsters they'd been hyping up for a decade.

And Arya dying while taking out the enemy she had been chasing for years would have been far more poetic than her sailing off to be some sort of Westerosi Magellan. She had spent years battling all sorts of terrible stuff just to get her one chance to take down the person she wanted the whole time and then she's in the Red Keep ready to go and she just gets shooed away by The Hound.

Every time I think about the ending of this show, I just get so mad all over again. Hank summed up perfectly in one tweet how much damage those final few episodes did to the legacy of what should have been one of the greatest TV shows of all-time.

I will always love GoT but damn it, that ending will just never do it for me. It's a damn shame we put our hopes in the guys who were working off someone else's masterpiece and then they just pissed all over it.
