Bryce Harper Needs To Continue Bullying The Shit Out Of The Phillies Ownership And Management
Philadelphia I applaud all of your support this year!???? I don’t need to tell you what we need to improve on or how we are going to get better or how I can get better. Blah blah blah. It’s a must. It’s expected. In all aspects. The fans and the City of Philadelphia deserve better plain and simple! You guys deserve Broad Street again. John Middleton has already been bullied by fans into not technically firing Matt Klentak but removing him as the GM of the Phillies. He can say that it's due to his lack of hitting on draft picks as much as he wants, but everybody knows that Middleton would have been perfectly fine with keeping Klentak around if he didn't think that Phillies fans would literally never show up to Citizens Bank Park again if he wasn't moved from that position.
So there were 2 major moves that needed to happen for the Phillies this offseason. The first needed to be the firing of Klentak. And technically, that didn't even happen. But whatever, reassigning him to a new role is close enough.
The 2nd needs to be re-signing JT Realmuto. Something this dog shit organization has simply been refusing to do for some godforsaken reason. We already know that John Middleton is a dork who can be easily bullied, but maybe the fans aren't intimidating enough on our own for him to open up his massive check book to pay Realmuto. So if it's not the fans who are going to bully this man mercilessly until a deal is signed, maybe the most important man in the organization will do the trick.
It would be impossible for Bryce to be any more clear what needs to happen here. I'll tell you what--people were originally worried about how he'd be able to handle the fans and the pressure and expectations here in Philly. But so far, he's been the only one in this organization who seems to be fighting for the fans. Bryce gets it. He knows this city deserves better and he also knows that sack of shit John Middleton won't do anything about it unless he's pressured into it. So if he needs to be the biggest pain in the ass to management throughout the entire winter to get a deal done, he'll be the biggest pain in the ass to management throughout the entire winter to get a deal done. And fix the dog shit bullpen while you're at it.
It shouldn't have to come to this. It shouldn't be that difficult of a decision to make. It's honestly embarrassing for everybody involved. But that's what the Philadelphia Phillies ownership and management has done to this team. And it's now up to Bryce to get these bastards to figure it out. You might just want to let him take the GM job right now. Maybe that would be an easy way for John Middleton to save a few dollars.
