The 'DUNE' Remake Has Been Delayed From This December To October Of NEXT YEAR

It seems the spice won’t flow until next year, as Warner Bros. and Legendary are moving Denis Villeneueve‘s Dune off its December release date and will release the epic sci-fi movie on Oct. 1, 2021, Collider has exclusively learned.

Well, there it goes. The last huge movie release that I was really looking forward to this year has been pushed back not just a couple of months, but just under a whole fucking year. It makes sense considering Regal and Cineworlds decision to close their theaters indefinitely and how poorly (relatively speaking) 'Tenet' did financially. But still, this was the last thing I was looking forward to in this unbelievably shitty year, and now it's been taken from us. 

ICYMI, it comes from Director Denis Villeneuve (Sicario, Arrival, Enemy, Prisoners) and it has the insane cast of Timothée Chalamet, Oscar Isaac, Rebecca Ferguson, Jason Momoa, Zendaya, Javier Bardem, Charlotte Rampling, Dave Bautista, David Dastmalchian, Chang Chen, Stellan Skarsgård and Josh Brolin.

In the far future of humanity, Duke Leto Atreides accepts stewardship of the dangerous desert planet Arrakis, also known as Dune, the only source of the most valuable substance in the universe, "the spice", a drug which extends human life, provides superhuman levels of thought, and makes faster-than-light travel possible. Though Leto knows the opportunity is an intricate trap set by his enemies, he takes his Bene Gesserit concubine Lady Jessica, young son and heir Paul, and most trusted advisers to Arrakis. Leto takes control of the spice mining operation, which is made perilous by the presence of giant sandworms. A bitter betrayal leads Paul and Jessica to the Fremen, natives of Arrakis who live in the deep desert.
