What Famous Side Character Would You Like To See Get Their Own Movie?

This is actually a question I've thought about quite often, and then today it was trending on Twitter and got me thinking about it all over again. I always wonder why more major successful films don't do what Star Wars, Marvel, Fast And Furious, (and some others) are doing now and expand the fuck out of their universe. I love seeing expanded backstories and character roles and getting a more in-depth look at worlds.

One example, and I don't know why this always comes to my head first, but the Austin Powers universe. Give me more of 'em. Give me Dr. Evil movies, have Austin Powers Jr., all of it. It's a shame we never got more Austin Powers films, they were so ahead of their time and so good.

Another one is Inception. All the characters with their defined roles within the movie could be expanded on. Man, there is so much to unpack with Cobb (Leo's character) in that film, I wouldn't mind running it back with him and just learning more about his life and the world of Inception.

An easy one is Worm from Rounders. Give me his entire back story. I'm sure he had a fuckeddddd up childhood and ran some scams in his day. Plus some close to death experiences, as well as the most degenerate sports bets possible. A Worm movie is a must-have.

Call me old fashioned, but I never really thought Hunger Games even got close to showing what they were capable of. Especially because it fell during the whole "Twilight" era of books and films. Give me a rated R Hunger Games trilogy starring Woody Harreslon.

While doing and thinking about this blog, I had to make sure to be careful not to run into the problem of suggesting we need sequels or prequels to great movies. For example Inglourious Basterds was a perfect movie and I could watch The Bear Jew hunt Nazis forever, but I'm not sure we need an entire new movie for it.

This topic is expansive. There are so many good characters out there that deserve a bigger spotlight, but at the same time, their limited role is what makes them so good. To use a TV example, Creed Bratton wouldn't have been so good if he wasn't in such small doses. So the tricky part when answering this question is who wouldn't be ruined from being the star?

What do you guys think, what side character deserves their own film?

PS: If we're talking TV show side characters that could become movies, give me Nick Miller, give me some sort of expanded LOST universe with Penny and Desmond, or Charlie, or both, and eventually I will require a Stormfront origin movie from "The Boys".
