Nothing But Respect For This Dad Making His 1-Day Old Son Watch Football From The Hospital Crib

I know it's shocking to 99% of the comment section, but I can 100% relate to this. You see my son was born on a Friday in September last year in the middle of the afternoon. The very next day was Kentucky-Florida football and I was stuck in the hospital room still. Not the best place to watch a game, especially when you've been there for a few days, you're a first time dad and on the edge of your seat. So what do you do? You teach your son the importance of football and sports in his life. That's exactly what this dad is doing and exactly what I did. I took my son, put him on my lap and had him face the TV so he could learn about the pain of watching Kentucky blow yet another game to Florida. Thanks a lot, Sawyer Smith for that terrible interception.

Getting your kid to embrace things you like is a massive, massive thing as a dad. Especially when, you know, your job is to watch sports and give opinions and takes on it. You gotta get that kid to sit down in the same room as you and at least stay entertained for a few minutes so you can watch a quarter in peace if you're alone. Plus having your son sit there and watch a sporting event with you is easily a top-5 feeling as a dad. It grows as they get older and actually start cheering and understanding a bit what's going on, but teaching them early that your team probably sucks and you're going to yell at a TV from time to time is an important life lesson. That's what this dad is doing and nothing but respect for him.

And if you do cheer for a shitty team, make sure your son stays loyal too. They don't get the out because they were born in 2020. No sir, they have to sit there and watch a 4-12 team just like you. Part of the reason I named my kid Camden. If I have to suffer through 33 years of the Orioles, he has to as well. I'm not even going to give him a chance to get out of that. Enjoy the misery kid, there's nothing better in the world.
